Our client, one of Europe’s leading beef and lamb processing companies, is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join their Team in Co. Waterford.
This is a full-time, permanent position, where you will play a key role in delivering a range of engineering projects across the Group, ensuring they are completed in line with company strategy and objectives.
You’ll be part of a wider Engineering team responsible for the design, implementation, and handover of multi-disciplinary projects across production sites in Ireland and the UK.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage the design, implementation, and handover of a range of engineering projects including building services, production facility upgrades, and large-scale capital works.

Oversee multiple projects at various production sites, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.

Develop and manage project budgets, reporting on progress throughout the project lifecycle.

Prepare design and tender documentation including user requirement specifications, tender drawings, and scope documents.

Implement and follow company project management procedures and SOPs to ensure consistent delivery.

Lead verification, commissioning, and handover activities for new engineering systems.

Provide technical support to site teams and assist in troubleshooting electrical or engineering challenges.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Engineering Department.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects align with operational needs and Group goals.

Travel to production sites throughout Ireland and the UK as required.
What Are We Looking For?
-
A third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

2+ years’ experience in an Engineering Project Management or Project Engineer role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Proven experience in delivering projects from concept to completion.

Strong AutoCAD and MS Office skills (including MS Project).

A Project Management certification would be an advantage.

Demonstrated ability to manage budgets effectively and meet project deadlines.

Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills.

A flexible approach with the ability to travel between sites as required.
