My client in the Healthcare sector based in Naas, Co. Kildare is seeking a highly competent, organised, and flexible Medical Administrator/Receptionist to support their  clinical team in the delivery of high-quality care.

This role demands strong communication, organisational, and typing skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be required to work between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

***Hours may vary at times 35-37 hours per week depending on business needs***

Willingness to work flexible hours and provide occasional weekend cover.

This is an initial 6 month contract going month to month thereafter

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Prepare, type, and manage clinical correspondence, reports, and referrals with accuracy and speed.

  • Provide comprehensive secretarial support to consultants and clinical staff

  • Maintain and manage patient records and appointments using hospital systems.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, clinical staff, and other departments.

  • Organise and prioritise workload to meet service demands and deadlines.

  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

  • Assist in managing clinic lists, follow-ups, and cancellations efficiently.

  • Support cover for colleagues during periods of absence as required.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and provide occasional weekend cover.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience as a medical secretary or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting - essential

  • Excellent typing skills (audio and/or copy typing essential).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise under pressure.

  • Proficient in using office software and electronic health record systems.

  • Flexible and dependable, with a commitment to patient-centred service delivery.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Fluency in English written/oral

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and provide occasional weekend cover.
