​You will work as a Design Engineer for our client, a highly successful and well-established manufacturing company in Co. Cavan

As a Design Engineer you will be responsible for meeting customers’ expectations and translating the expectations into a design that can me efficiently manufactured on-site.

This role is a Permanent opportunity where the working hours operate 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM Monday to Friday.

Duties and responsibilities

• Use Auto Cad, Pro E, and other design packages to meet customers specifications.

• Work out costings, specs, drawings, and technical details for customers.

• Create detailed drawings and BOMs for production and logistics.

• Design and alter the company’s product for the purposes of ease of manufacturing and to optimise costs.

• Communicate effectively with R&D to improve efficiencies.

• Work alongside the production team for first time quality.

• Attentively prepare instructions and drawings for the production floor.

Job requirements

• Degree/diploma in an Engineering discipline is a must with Mechanical Engineering being advantageous.

• Exposure to using CAD and Pro e.

• Previous experience in a R&D/Design Engineering role in a Manufacturing environment is desirable.

• Ability to liaise and communicate to differing departments in a Manufacturing facility.

• A strong work ethic and possess a proactive attitude in there day to day.
