A well-established and award-winning manufacturer of chilled and frozen foods in Co. Westmeath is seeking an experienced and committed Maintenance Supervisor to join its team.

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will have responsibility for managing the day-to-day running of the maintenance department, ensuring that the PPM schedule is completed, OEE is enhanced, and reliability targets are consistently achieved.

Your New Job

Duties & responsibilities

  • Complete and delegate Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks effectively so that the PPM schedule is completed.

  • Maintain, and develop a comprehensive planned preventative maintenance programme that will increase OEE, increase plant reliability and reduce downtime.

  • Preparation of documentation and KPI reports and present information at senior management meetings (e.g., repair status, safety logs, etc.).

  • Develop and implement corrective maintenance plans to minimise production downtime.

  • Ordering of spare parts and management of spare parts management system to ensure there are sufficient levels of stock to reduce equipment downtime.

  • Foster a strong health and safety culture amongst the maintenance team and always promote health and safety best practices through the sharing of knowledge and training.

  • Work with the technical department on BRC accreditation requirements.

  • Experience and knowledge in a broad range of maintenance disciplines – electrical, mechanical, plumbing and pipe installation.

  • Identify root causes of problems and integrate improvements and long-term solutions. 

  • Assist & train production staff on machine /equipment setup.

  • Take an active role in new equipment installs, continuous improvements and maintenance projects. 

  • Respond to emergency breakdowns as needed.

 

What are we looking for?

  • A minimum of 3 years experience working as a Maintenance Supervisor in an FMCG environment.

  • A qualified Electrician to Senior Trade level.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety requirements.

  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

  • Strong personnel management skills and the ability to delegate tasks effectively with clear concise directions.

  • Proven track record in successfully developing, coaching, and mentoring junior members of staff so they reach their potential.

  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a time-critical environment.

  • A strong team player who works collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to achieve collective business goals.

  • Commercial astute individual who can manage budgets and costs effectively to deliver a cost-effective maintenance programme.

  • Computer literacy – Competent in all MS packages and ability to use CMMS.
