What you need to know:
Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician for our client based in County Monaghan who are a leading manufacturer company. This is a permanent, full-time role, Monday to Friday.


Your New Job:
Help keeping the plant running safely and smoothly by supporting production and tackling issues as they come up. Using a mix of electrical and mechanical skills to maintain and improve equipment, with a focus on controls, PLCs, and automation.


Maintenance Electrician Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on production lines and site equipment including motors, PLCs, boilers, compressors, refrigeration units, sensors, and control systems.

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly, carrying out repairs and line modifications to minimise downtime.

  • Maintain technical documentation and drawings using AutoCAD, including updating existing schematics and developing new ones for enhancements.

  • Support continuous improvement projects (WCM) by designing and implementing plant modifications to enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintain spares inventory, and uphold high standards of housekeeping, workmanship, and communication.



What are we looking for?

  • Must hold a recognised electrical qualification or apprenticeship and have a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and current safety standards.

  • A minimum of 2–3 years’ experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with practical knowledge of automated machinery and plant services.

  • Proven ability in electrical fault-finding and repairs, along with working knowledge of mechanical systems such as pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, and mechanical drives.

  • Experience with PLCs, industrial control systems, instrumentation, motor controls, and HMIs. Ability to read and update electrical schematics; AutoCAD experience is desirable.
