What you need to know
You will work as a Health and Safety Practitioner for our client, a highly successful and well-established manufacturing company in Co. Cavan.
As the Health and safety Practitioner, you will be responsible for promoting the highest level of Health and Safety practice attainable for the organisation and to protect the health and safety of all employees and visitors to site.
This Role is a Permanent role where the role is operating on a Monday to Friday Day-shift basis.

Your new job
Duties and Responsibilities
- Effective Safety Promotion, ensuring that Health and safety has a visible presence on-site.
- Initiate Non-Conformances for each Accident, Dangerous Occurrence and Near Miss and record and ensure effectiveness of all Corrective Actions/Preventative measures put in place to prevent recurrence.
- Relationship building with Internal and External Stakeholders in relation to regulatory reporting.
- Record keeping on site and the sharing of results to management.
- Focus on Fire Safety through risk assessments and regular communication with the fire consultant.
- Involved in assessment of new work procedures or and new equipment.
- Organise and facilitate safety committee meetings and follow up any issues or aspects needing to be reviewed.
- Ensure all personnel understand their responsibilities. Review new legislation and assess compliance and actions arising.
Requirements
- Level 7/8 Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
- Exposure to working in Health and Safety in a Manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to work effectively with differing departments.
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Proactive approach to their day-to-day responsibilities
