What you need to know

A well-established and growing plastics company that manufactures industrial products is currently seeking a dynamic and driven Graduate Manufacturing Engineer to join their team.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Production Manager and will work closely with the engineering team to design and implement process improvements on site in line with company goals. The company is currently experiencing strong growth and this opportunity offers excellent exposure to all facets of the manufacturing process.
This is a permanent role with an excellent salary and package.


Your new job

• Take an active role in the management of business improvement projects.
• MRP systems process owner for planning module incorporating routings and factory set-up and modelling.
• Realisation of advanced manufacturing processes and technologies.
• Generation of business improvement ideas.
• Project management, Gantt chart, and Gateway review.
• Management of third-party suppliers and contractors on site.
• Oversee capital expenditure preparation and submission reports.
• Budgetary control of capital expenditure projects in conjunction with the finance team.
• Technical support of project implementations.
• Champion Lean principles on-site and actively participate in Lean initiatives.
• BE a key user of MRP system including factory set up, work centres, and routing
• Developing works instructions and training materials, as required.
• Process troubleshooting on factory equipment.

What are we looking for

·         Degree level, or equivalent, education in an Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering discipline.

·         Previous experience in a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering role.

·         Previous training in time study, process mapping, or value stream mapping

·         Injection moulding or plastic processes training is desirable but not essential.

·         Excellent IT skills

·         Strong communication and negotiation skills

·         A natural ability to collaborate with team members at all levels and make quality decisions.

·         Be adept at managing complexity, planning and aligning goals, and driving results with a strategic mindset.

·         Training in Six Sigma (Black or Green belt) and experience in Advanced Manufacturing Technologies is desirable.
