What you need to know
We are currently seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant for our client, in the financial services industry, based in Limerick.

In this position, you will be responsible for identifying and interpreting changes to accounting standards and regulations that will impact the client allocation within the department.
You will assist in the review of financial statements and will also work closely with the training department to identify training needs and develop best practice solutions for Ireland and some of the company’s outsourced locations.

This position reports to the divisional manager within financial reporting in Ireland.
This is a 12-month contract position with some possibility for other opportunities at the end of the contract. The role offers a hybrid working model.

Your new job
Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Establish best practices within the department to provide excellent client satisfaction and continuously improve the department’s performance to internal and external clients year on year.
  • Responsible for the review and delivery of financial statements where required to ensure they are compliant with current accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Become the primary point of contact with each of the associated Audit Firms.
  • Work closely with the Audit Firms and facilitate technical briefs and updates for the department, thereby keeping abreast of industry and regulatory developments.
  • Represent the Financial Reporting team at relevant external forums which have an impact on the business.
  • Collaborate with the management team on client-servicing tasks, new business opportunities, and client due diligence presentations.
  • Identify training and development needs and identify performance standards for the department.
  • Guide staff in the resolution of non-routine and complex financial reporting issues.
  • Liaise with Compliance and other relevant internal stakeholders where required.


What are we looking for?
  • Fully qualified accountant.
  • Experience in the investment management industry or Big 4 accountancy practice, acquired through working in the fund administration, asset management or securities operations industry or audit industry.
  • Financial reporting experience preferred.
  • Experience reviewing financial statements.
  • Strong communication, presentation skills and internal and external client-servicing skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of both onshore and offshore funds administration. In particular Irish/UK GAAP and IFRS experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Irish regulatory regime as it relates to Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting.
  • Understanding of how Fund Accounting systems link and interface to other systems.
  • Ability to identify process improvements.
  • Ability to mentor and motivate others.
  • Understanding of how Fund Accounting systems link and interface to other systems.
