What you need to know

Our client, a leading manufacturer of a diverse range of premium building materials are seeking a Contracts Manager to join their organisation in Co. Fermanagh.

This is a permanent job, working week Monday – Friday.

Salary is £50,000 plus 20% bonus, depending on experience and skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Estimating, calculating, and organizing the necessary surfacing materials for both public and private projects.

  • Supervising staff to ensure high standards of work, safety, and productivity in both public and private sectors.

  • Determining the cost of proposed projects.

  • Planning and scheduling project timelines.

  • Preparing bids for council projects.

  • Implementing traffic management measures.

  • Understanding quality control and various bitumen mixtures.

  • Proficiency in operating relevant machinery for different tasks.

  • Conducting monthly safety inspections.

  • Meeting contract performance targets within budget.

  • Efficiently planning and scheduling to meet customer needs.

  • Optimizing productivity and resource usage to minimize waste.

  • Maintaining financial oversight and timely reporting for accurate financial statements.

  • Managing operational teams according to company protocols.

  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of health, safety, and environmental metrics.

  • Overseeing multiple subcontractors and implementing safety measures on site.

  • Developing pre-work plans, method statements, and risk assessments.

What are we looking for?

Essential Requirements:

  • A third-level qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field, or substantial prior experience in the industry, along with several years of expertise in drafting, negotiating, and overseeing contracts and agreements.

  • Outstanding abilities in negotiating, persuading, and making judgments.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Familiarity with the surfacing industry.

  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial proficiency.

  • Keen attention to detail, thoroughness, and adeptness in mathematics.
