What you need to know
We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist for our client based in Carlow.

As the Payroll Specialist, you will join a medium sized finance team and you will be responsible for providing a professional, efficient, and confidential payroll service to employees. This role involves enhancing the payroll system, ensuring precise application of payroll taxes and relevant deductions, as well as meeting Revenue payroll and expenses processing standards.

This is a 6 month contract position.

The working hours per week will be 35 hours.

Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely completion of all payrolls in accordance with strict deadlines.
  • Comply with all payroll taxation and statutory deduction requirements.
  • Operate within Revenue’s payroll and expenses data requirements effectively.
  • Assist in the ongoing development and testing of the Core Payroll system’s upgrades and functionalities.
  • Prepare and manage all monthly payroll deductions and maintain deduction scheme details.
  • Provide confidential support to staff regarding payroll-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records for audit trails and internal reference.
  • Support the overall financial control environment.
  • Participate in the identification of improvements for payroll processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Coordinate with Internal and External Auditors as necessary.
  • Adhere to all established payroll control processes and procedures.
  • Ad-hoc duties as required to assist the finance function.

What are we looking for?
  • 2 years+ experience in a similar role in payroll.
  • Relevant qualification in payroll.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including payroll software, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
