Assistant Accountant – Athlone

My client a US global healthcare company based in Athlone Co. Westmeath are hiring an Assistant Accountant. This is a new job due to continued growth.

As an Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for the processing high volume invoices and debtors/creditors reconciliations. You will play an important role in the efficient operation of the accounts payable and receivable section within the finance department.You will report into the Financial Controller.

This is a permanent job

Hours of work 9.00-5.30pm. Hybrid work option available.


Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Process invoices and Journal entries in line with current processes.

  • Reconcile accounts payable & receivable at month end.

  • Answer sales and purchase ledger enquiries and deal with them accordingly.

  • Debtors & Creditor Reconciliations.

  • Resolving queries from suppliers and customers issues.

  • Processing payment runs.

  • Processing and reconciling credit card and expenses claims

  • Bank Reconciliations

  • Assisting with administration duties

What are we looking for?

  • Part- Qualified Accountant or 3rd Level Qualification in a finance discipline.

  • At least 3-5years’ work experience in processing high volume invoices.

  • Experience of working with multiple currencies

  • Have the capability to deal with and solve problems and issues in the correct manner.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and to required deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.

  • Proven ability to see projects through from start to finish.

  • Excellent administration and organisational skills
