What you need to know
A leading multinational company in the packaging industry that manufactures bespoke products for the medical device and pharmaceutical industry in Co. Offaly is recruiting an experienced Lead Lean Manufacturing Engineer to join their team.
As a Lead Lean Manufacturing Engineer, you will report directly to the Operations Director and will work with them collaboratively to improve the efficiency and functionality of the company’s manufacturing plant.
This is a permanent role with an excellent salary, and package and offers opportunities for progression. 

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities include:

  • Manage and improve lean production systems. 

  • Reducing waste in manufacturing by utilising lean tools/principles using 5s, SMED, standard work. 

  • Act as a change agent by managing change and implementing continuous improvement plans. 

  • Develop and deliver lean training to raise the level of awareness. 

  • Managing a portfolio of both process improvement projects.

  • Manage and review daily metrics and attend meetings to support various teams in their problem-solving efforts. 

  • Monitoring product and process improvement targets to ensure on-time completion and sustainability.

  • Recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, methods, and controls to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.

What are we looking for?

  • A degree in Engineering or another relevant field. 

  • Three plus years’ experience in continuous improvement / lean manufacturing. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong team player.

  • Strong time management skills – must be able to organise and manage multiple priorities.

  • A minimum of a Lean Six Sigma Green belt certification – Black Belt would be a distinct advantage. 

  • Previous experience using Minitab software is a distinct advantage.
