What you need to know

We are currently seeking a Sales Engineer for our client, based in Newcastle Co. Dublin.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

As a Sales Engineer both office based and out in the field, you will have the opportunity to promote the business through development of the company’s existing customer base and expanding it further.

Your new job

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Creating proposals, including the calculation of sales prices working closely with sales engineer Managers to help achieve the further growth of the company in Ireland.

  • Supporting sales with demonstrations, exhibitions, and negotiations to achieve targets.

  • Supporting sales through undertaking site surveys and providing technical advice to both existing and potential new customers.

  • Ensuring an excellent standard of after sales service is provided.

  • Supporting sales through the effective provision of sales data, including the timely recording of visit and action reports (including lost order reports) and analysis of sales performance against budget.

  • Promoting the business nationally and in the UK by supporting the Business Line Manager and other team members in achieving sales in the mentioned territories.

What are we looking for?

 

  • Proven technical sales experience, selling capital equipment into the end user markets, however training is available.

  • Some knowledge of renewable lighting and or power industry would be beneficial but is not essential.

  • A mechanical and or electrical engineering qualification – although this is desirable rather than essential.

  • Although the office based in Newcastle Co Dublin, you should be available to travel throughout Ireland north and south and into the UK from time to time when required.

  • A full Ireland or UK driving license is essential.

  • Excellent general computer skills demonstrating the ability to prepare quotations.

  • A good standard of presentation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Determination, enthusiasm, and motivation to succeed.

  • An animated, sociable, and confident personality.
