What you need to know

We are currently seeking a Sales and Marketing Executive for our client, in the private tourism industry, based in Waterford.

This a 3-year contract position and will suit an individual with a Tourism, Business, Marketing, or strong Administration background.

This is a supportive role to facilitate implementation of the company’s Marketing/sales objectives in Ireland and abroad. This role involves marketing & media, communications, administration, digital & socials, and PR.

Possibility to work for home on a full-time basis.

Your new job

Key duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Implement the tourism analysis and promotional plan.

  • Develop and manage marketing, advertising, promotional and publicity activities.

  • Collaborate with agencies and other stakeholders to influence tourism development.

  • Work closely and seek to foster and maintain relationships with key industry groups, partner organisations, local authorities, and individuals in the region.

  • Management of the administration needs, including scheduling meetings and minute taking for Executive and Board Meetings.

  • Preparation of regular progress reports and budgets for presentation.

  • Preparation and submission of funding applications and reports.

  • Digital Marketing – generate monthly reports from Google Alerts and Google Analytics. Management of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, YouTube & TripAdvisor.

  • Review and update the website content regularly. Generate monthly report about website activity.

  • Proactively seek out good news stories, prepare press releases and media / press briefing notes regarding same. Liaising with stakeholders for content creation for social media, e-newsletter, press releases and copy for tourism guides / newsletters.

  • Handle media queries.

  • Liaise with travel trade, media, and tourism agencies.

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Experience in a related discipline such as Tourism, Business or Marketing.

  • Planning, organisation, and communication skills essential.

  • Excellent computer literacy to include MS Office, social and digital media platforms.

  • Project management skills, and the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously and to a high standard.

  • A creative and innovative mindset is required.

  • Flexible to achieve targets and complete projects.

  • Self-motivated, a self-starter and results driven.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and networks is essential for this role.

  • Flexibility on working hours required as evening and weekend work will be required from time to time and is an essential part of the role.
