What you need to know

Our client, a leading multinational, who offers specialised services and equipment to the medical devices and pharmaceutical industry is currently seeking a Quality Manager to join their team.

This is a permanent position based in Co. Offaly, working week Monday – Friday.

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality-related aspects, in collaboration with the Quality Director of Global Laboratories.

Your new job

Duties & Responsibilities.

  • Collaborate with Lab Operations Management, the Laboratory Tech Team, EO TechTeam, and the Radiation TechTeam.

  • Ensure adherence to procedures, standards, and relevant laws within the Quality System.

  • Guarantee proper implementation of Health and Safety Policies within laboratory settings.

  • Initiate, investigate, manage, and analyse non-conformance reports, complaints, supplier corrective action requests, deviations, and Out of Specification (OOS) reports in coordination with other departments. Ensure all relevant parties are informed and oversee effective corrective actions where necessary.

  • Coordinate audits (Regulatory Inspections, Notified Body Assessments, Customer Audits, Supplier Audits) with Operations Management. Execute the internal audit program according to schedule and conduct audits as needed.

  • Oversee adjustments to ISO 17025 accreditation scope, whether it involves new licenses or updated ones.

  • Coordinate change management alongside laboratory operations, ensuring that new equipment, instruments, and quality-related software undergo qualification and requalification either on a regular basis or following modifications before deployment.

  • Lead and engage in local or global projects in cooperation with other departments and facilities.

  • Monitor laboratory performance by facilitating quarterly facility management reviews.

  • Conduct Quality and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) training for all laboratory staff and develop, sustain, and enhance the lab employee training program.

What are we looking for?

Essential Requirements.

  • Candidates must obtain a 3rd level qualification in science.

  • Minimum 5 years Quality Manager experience, with at least 3 years experience in laboratories activities, quality role, equipment qualification, test method validation and testing standards.

  • Proficient in communication, adept at teamwork, skilled in prioritizing tasks, and capable of swiftly and accurately resolving problems.

  • Skilled in technical writing and ensuring quality.

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives and experience in the medical sector would be highly beneficial.

  • Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office.
