What you need to know
Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Power Trader for our client who isbased in Kildare.
In this job, you will join a well-established company in the renewable energy business unit and will be responsible for trading a diverse portfolio of generation assets.
This position is a permanent position.
Your new job:
Key duties & responsibilities:
Work as part of the prompt trading team to optimise the company’s generation assets in various markets.
Analyse the existing strategies to identify enhanced trading opportunities.
Maximising the revenue through managing balancing positions for wind and other renewable assets.
Monitor and manage the exposure to imbalance charges.
Participate in the development of future trading activities for an expanding power generation portfolio.
Alongside the data analytics team, assist in the analysis and development of forecasting models as well as enhanced trade execution strategies.
Maintain an updated comprehension of all market changes and energy policy implications.
Review and assess the impact of policy changes on the company’s generation portfolio and strategic assets.
Build and cultivate productive working relationships externally with Industry working groups.
Liaise and work internally with the wider Commercial team and Operations team to manage the onboarding of new projects, and any trading short term asset unavailability issues.
Proactively participate in the process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's, objectives.
What are we looking for?
Third level degree in a discipline with a high level of numerical, analytical and/or financial content. (Engineering, Finance, Science, Data Science).
1- 3 years-experience in ISEM trading, ideally with Battery and Solar experience.
Knowledge of ISEM and the analysis of market drivers is essential.
Advanced MS Excel skills (Macros, pivot tables etc).
Excellent decision-making skills; team player; good judgement and decision making.
Strong communication, reporting and interpersonal skills.
A self-starter who can work on their own initiative.
Experience in SQL is desirable.
Demonstrable experience of managing large data sets and analysing large volumes of data to identify trends is desirable.
Occasional flexibility in working arrangements and availability for out of hours trading cover, for example for plant startups on a limited basis.
