What you need to know:
Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician for our client based in County Westmeath who are a leading manufacturer company.  This is a permanent, full-time role, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), with an on-call component.


Your New Job:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment, supporting preventative maintenance programs, and carrying out machinery troubleshooting to maximise equipment reliability and help achieve production goals.


Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) procedures while carrying out planned, preventative and corrective maintenance on plant, machinery and equipment.

  • Diagnose faults, identify maintenance issues, and undertake general mechanical repairs, completing relevant risk assessments and method statements.

  • Maintain and update the maintenance management system, including recording all work carried out, equipment updates and generating performance reports.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contractors to complete maintenance tasks safely and efficiently, providing technical support where required.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and assist with work projects to enhance plant operations and maintenance processes.



What are we looking for?

  • Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting qualification essential, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a mechanical maintenance fitter, ideally in manufacturing.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to repair, optimise equipment performance, and provide engineering support, including reporting and suggesting improvements.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems.

  • Excellent communicator and team player with a hands-on approach, able to multitask, adapt, and focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
