Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Lending Manager for our client who is based in Laois.

As the Lending Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day lending operations and for the ongoing successful delivery of the lending goals and objectives.

Your primary focus will be to ensure the delivery of exceptional member service while adhering to the lending policies, regulatory guidelines, and risk management practices.

You will be a key member of the management team and work closely with marketing to help drive growth.  

This position will suit you if you possess a strong knowledge of lending practices, leadership skills and a passion for fostering financial well-being within the community.

This is a permanent position.

Your new job:
Key duties & responsibilities:
  • Manage the lending function ensuring the balance of both quality and quantity of loans through effective assessment of applications and documentation and a ‘best in class’ underwriting process.
  • Oversee, manage and carry out the day-to-day lending operations, including consumer loans, mortgages, personal loans, and business loans.
  • Assist with lending policy development and updates.
  • Participate in the development of lending products and services.
  • Collaborate with other departments to assess member needs, develop new lending products, and enhance existing ones.
  • Work with marketing to drive the growth of lending and the loan book.
  • Monitor the loan portfolio, ensuring it remains within risk tolerance levels while identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Ensure great member service by assisting members with their loan inquiries, offering financial advice, and resolving any loan-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Participate in the preparation of the lending department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to the management team on lending performance, portfolio quality, and key performance indicators.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure that the lending practices remain in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

What are we looking for?
  • Third level qualification advantageous.
  • Relevant APA qualification.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in lending operations including mortgages and business lending.
  • Team lead, supervisory or management experience.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of managing teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
