What you need to know

Our client who area provider of sterilisation services to many of the world’s largest medical device manufacturers is currently seeking an IT Support Specialist.

In this role you will be reporting to the Desktop Support Manager. You will be carrying out 1st and 2nd level IT Support to the clients’ users. Additionally, you will be working in conjunction with the UK team and will be collaborating closely with the US IT team in relation to managing the ticketing system for the client’s users. The role is predominantly based on the Offaly site however there is travel requirements to the sites in Mayo and Galway to provide on-site IT support.

 This is a full-time permanent position. The core working hours are on a Monday to Friday basis. 8:30-5:15 with a 1PM finish on a Friday. Included in the package is healthcare and pension with 25 days annual leave.

Your New Job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing technical support in the following areas: networking, PCs, printers, telecommunications, security, server administration, systems administration

  • Diagnose hardware, software, and business application problems

  • Assist in the configuration and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, and client-side VPN

  • Perform wireless device troubleshooting

  • Responsible for third-party support tickets on installation, maintenance and end user support for workstations, printers, phones, and other technology

  • Remote support for home-based users

 

What we need from you

  • Degree Qualified in an IT Discipline

  • A full clean driving license is a must as travel is required

  • 3-5 years’ experience in an IT Support role is key

  • Experience providing IT Support in a production environment would be seen as a strong advantage

  • A Self-motivated individual who is proactive in their approach to meeting requirements

  • Resilient and focussed on problem solving
