Matrix Recruitment are seeking to recruit a House Co Ordinator our client based in Co Kildare
This is a Permanent Contract

Key duties & responsibilities

The House Coordinator ensures a safe and effective service for residents through quality and safety processes within the assigned house(s). This role includes oversight of Social Care Assistants and Volunteers, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and service agreements, and reporting on service quality and improvements. The welfare and wellbeing of residents are paramount, requiring a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Uphold and respect the rights of individuals.

  • Encourage self-advocacy and involvement in advocacy efforts.

  • Ensure respect for tenancy rights and consult with residents on living arrangements.
    Implement the keyworker system to provide personalised service.

  • Facilitate the development and review of personal, intimate care, and behavior support plans.

  • Support residents in managing their health and developing self-medication skills.

  • Address residents' social, educational, and vocational needs through various opportunities.

  • Promote decision-making skills and community integration for residents.

  • Manage and administer the assigned service area.

  • Lead staff in delivering person-centred services and problem-solving.

  • Provide supervision and support to staff.

  • Organize rosters to ensure adequate support.

  • Ensure staff take their required annual leave.

  • Familiarise staff with organisational policies and ensure adherence.

  • Follow correct procedures for grievances and disciplinary actions.

  • Maintain accurate reports, timesheets, and financial statements.

  • Keep comprehensive records for each resident.

  • Report concerns immediately to the Person in Charge (PIC).

  • Implement and evaluate behavior support plans.

  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in residences.

  • Manage and support medical appointments and annual health planners.

  • Ensure nutritious diets that cater to individual needs and choices.

  • Protect adults in care against abuse and ensure strict reporting.

  • Lead household physical support, personal care, and health promotion.

  • Promote a culture of learning, feedback, and complaints.

  • Support staff in medication management.

  • Participate in team-based Performance Management and Strategic Planning.

  • Foster a team approach and delegate duties effectively.

  • Involve in staff recruitment, selection, induction, and performance management.

  • Ensure compliance with legislative, policy, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor and report on the budget for each residence.

  • Be accountable for responsible monies.

  • Prepare and apply the budget prudently.

  • Consult residents on budget application.

  • Document and submit house accounts for financial management.

  • Protect residents' finances and assets in line with policy.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum Level 7 on the QQI Framework – BA in Social Care Studies or equivalent.

  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a similar social care setting.

  • At least 3 years' experience in the disability sector/vulnerable adults.

  • Understanding of national and sectoral policies related to Social Care.

  • Knowledge of HIQA Regulations and Standards.

  • Thorough understanding of safeguarding requirements.
