My client, in the Construction Industry located in the North West Region is looking to recruit a Head of Sales for their facility.

This is a permanent job with attractive salary and company benefits

You will report into the Managing Director of the company

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive sales and distribution strategy to maximise sales opportunities.

  • Achieve maximum profitability and growth in accordance with the company’s plan.

  • Influence stakeholders within customers' organisations and buyers in the industry.

  • Conduct market research, identify new business opportunities, and pursue them based on customer needs and market trends.

  • Prepare and present performance metrics, monthly sales forecasts, and market insights to the Managing Director.

  • Investigate factors impacting sales performance.

  • Outline objectives in key target areas such as sales volume, market share, distribution channels

  • Utilise CRM software to track sales activities and manage customer details

  • Identify opportunities in the market in UK, Europe and other countries

  • Responsible for commercial activities

  • Work with distributors

  • Manage and maintain contact with client/customers 

  • Lead presentations for business development

  • Promote and drive the company products.

  • Motivate and ensure a highly effective sales team

  • Serve as a business representative at major industry events/trade shows in Ireland & overseas

What are we looking for?

  • Experience working as a Sales Director/Head of Sales

  • 3rd level Degree in Sales/Marketing/International Business Development

  • 7+ years in machinery sales

  • 3+ years managing a high performance sales team

  • Knowledge & experience with heavy/plant machinery

  • Strong IT/computer/CRM skills/social media presence & LinkedIn

  • Strong influencing, problem-solving and negotiation skills

  • Proven negotiation skills and track record of closing sales and revenue increase.

  • Must have a good understanding of market

  • Detail orientated with excellent writing & marketing skills

  • Build and maintain quality relationships with customers, stakeholders and other companies

  • Knowledge of safety principles and practices & work within regulations

  • Must be a leader & team player

  • Full clean Driving License

  • Flexibility to travel overseas when required - essential
