What you need to know
Our client who are based in Co. Offaly and have a long-established entity in the Midlands region are seeking a GIS Specialist & Landowner Liaison Officer to join their team.
This is a 1-year contract role, working week Monday – Friday, from 9:00am – 5:30pm.
The GIS Specialist & Landowner Liaison Officer will report into the GIS Team Leader.
Your new job
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop high-quality maps for peatland restoration projects, including assessments and surface water management, using ArcGIS software for Land and Habitats Business Unit.
Assist with bog rehabilitation and restoration, focusing on design and construction management.
Coordinate with stakeholders to meet survey and GIS objectives, ensuring timely and accurate information for project success.
Support the Survey & GIS Team Lead in delivering a cost-effective and professional survey program for various projects and operations.
Analyse datasets like topographical surveys and LiDAR to support cost-effective planning and design for Engineering, Legal, and Operations teams.
Comply with Health and Safety provisions and contribute to the welfare of coworkers and the public.
Participate in the Performance Management process to meet personal and team goals.
What are we looking for?
Level 8 BSc in Geomatics, GIS, or similar qualification with 5 years of relevant experience.
Expertise in GIS and surveying software.
Skilled in handling digital survey data (LiDAR, UAV) and creating AutoCAD drawings.
Ability to interpret Land Registry issues and research legal titles using resources like Land Registry/PRAI and Irish Land Commission.
Experience in editing digital boundaries for land registry maps to PRAI standards.
Full clean driving license required.
