What you need to know
We are currently seeking a General Ledger Accountant for our client based in Co. Waterford.
This is permanent, full-time role with hybrid working.
Your new job
Key duties and responsibilities:
 

  • This individual will play a key role in the Accounting Team in the monthly preparation of the management accounts.

  • They will provide supporting analysis with the monthly numbers which accurately depict financial performance across multiple legal entities.

  • Assist as required in driving project related activity on changes in group structure and in providing ad hoc accounting technical and commercial support across the wider finance teams.

  • They will work as part of a cohesive team of finance professionals and will need to be able to support the achievement of the team’s goals while managing individual responsibilities.

  • They will assist with all year end duties including closing of accounts and preparation of audit with the wider finance teams.

  • Preparation and submission of journals to accounting system.

  • Month end close activities, including payroll, Accounts Receivable & General Ledger reconciliations.

  • Reporting to the General Ledger Team Lead on any issues or queries that arise within the GL team.

  • Other office admin duties as required.

What are we looking for?

  • Recently Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant.

  • Experience using accountancy packages, preferrable NetSuite.

  • Good knowledge of full cycle Accounting – Sales Reconciliation, General Ledger, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable.

  • Proficiency in data entry and the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Strong financial reporting, problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Meticulous when it comes to detail and organisation.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team supporting other.

  • Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize and organise workflow.

  • Adaptable and driven with a positive attitude.

  • Treats confidential information in a trustworthy manner.

  • Ability to consistently follow outlined procedures, as well as develop new and improved processes.

  • French speaking advantageous but not essential.
