What you need to know
A leading medical device company that has a global reach and is at the forefront of developing new medical technologies is seeking an experienced and committed Engineering Project Manager for an 18-month contract in Galway City.
As Project Manager, you will report directly to the Programme Director and manage all operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as a critical link between project management and planning, project teams and line management.
This is an 18-month contract.
Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities include:
Manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as a link between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
Review the status of projects and budgets and prepare status reports.
Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction.
Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem-solving with project managers, line managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Establish operational plans and implement policies and strategies.
Manage budget or P&L accountability for a department, function or geography.
Strive for continuous improvement and consistency in deliverables.
Propose modifications to functional operating policies and day-to-day processes.
Communicate with internal and external customers and vendors regarding ongoing operations.
Use information exchange, influence and active persuasion to gain the cooperation of other parties.
What are we looking for?
A degree in Science, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience successfully managing complex projects in a regulated environment.
Strong practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics.
Ability to work independently under limited supervision to determine and develop approaches to solutions.
Coach and review the work of lower-level specialists.
Track record of taking responsibility for entire projects or processes within a certain field.
Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to offer creative solutions to challenges.
Passionate about continually improving processes, systems or products to enhance performance.
Can communicate effectively with senior internal and external customers and vendors.
Experience in guidance, coaching and training colleagues.
PMP, Agile and/or Master’s in Project Management is highly desirable.
