What you need to know

Are you an experienced Employee & Labor Relations Specialist?

My client, in the medical manufacturing industry is looking to recruit an ELR Specialist for their facility in Galway.

You will be responsible for managing grievances and disciplinaries within the workplace. You will need to have experience liaising with Trade Unions, employee & industrial relations and managing complex HR investigations

*This is a hybrid working role and you will be required to go between both facilities in Galway and Westmeath

This is a 12 month contract job - maybe extended further

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Promote and develop positive employee/management relations

  • Act as the first point of contact for all general day-to-day employee and industrial relations matters

  • Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders & cross-functional teams

  • Be responsible for disciplinary matters, grievance handling & performance management

  • Conduct investigations & provide advice

  • Manage and execute case loads & manage ER matters

  • Maintain reports & issue analysis

  • Ensure employment law, policies & procedures are followed

  • Coordinate with union/employee reps

  • Work with stakeholders on key trends

  • Diagnose causes and develop solutions

  • Travel between 2 sites required each week. Must have own transport

What are we looking for?

  • At least 3-5 years of Human Resources experience solely focused on Employee/Industrial Relations, grievances, disciplinaries, Trade Unions & managing complex HR investigations – essential

  • 3rd level qualification

  • 3 years experience leading workplace investigations

  • Working knowledge of Irish employment legislation and industrial relations regulations

  • Experience in identifying data metrics & developing solutions

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, objectivity, and confidentiality

  • Advanced experience/knowledge of MS Office applications

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Full, clean Driving License as travel is required on a weekly basis between both facilities - must have own transport
