What you need to know

Our client who are a globally recognised manufacturer in the medical devices industry are looking for an Electrical Technician to join their team in County Offaly.

In this role you will be reporting to the Head of Maintenance, and you will be responsible for the day-to-day support of manufacturing equipment and any projects that are electrically orientated on the manufacturing line.

Please note the hours of this position is Mon – Thurs 7:30am – 4pm and Fri 7:30am – 2:30pm. Please note you will be on a on call rota.

Additionally, this is a Permanent role subject to a 6-month probation and the salary is €51,600 per anum with a on call bonus of €2,000 euros per anum. Benefits to the role include a cash fund of €1,200 per anum and an employer pension.

 

Your new job

Duties and responsibilities

  • Maintaining equipment such as fill & seal packaging, on-line printers, semi-automated assembly equipment, high frequency welding, sterilisation, extrusion, and injection moulding machines.

  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing department on special projects, such as problem solving, continuous improvement, energy saving projects, maintenance excellence, automation, and new equipment introduction.

  • Conducting and documenting preventative, corrective, predictive and emergency maintenance tasks through Maximo (CMMS).

  • Provide problem-solving skills to equipment troubleshooting and process improvements.

  • Basic understanding of process validation, key process parameters and impact to patient safety and product quality.

  • Adhering to company health and safety guidelines.

 

What are we looking for?

  • A level 8 degree in Electrical Engineering or to be a fully qualified Electrician.

  • Three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Exposure to programming and troubleshooting computerised systems such as PLCs.

  • Knowledge on automated systems.
