Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Digital Engineering and AV Systems Engineer on behalf of our client based in Carlow.
Your New Role:
The Digitalization & Audio Visual Engineer will lead engineering digitization initiatives (such as, but not limited to, CMMS enhancements, dashboards, and document/workflow digitization and take ownership of site Audio Visual (AV) and collaboration systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead/assist engineering digitization projects: map current processes, design controlled digital workflows, support configuration, manage change control, and deploy training and user onboarding.
- Use AI platforms to support digitization initiatives. Partner with Site Data Analytics to progress Engineering Digital goals.
- Analytics and visualization -Build actionable dashboards with clear KPIs (maintenance compliance, asset health, downtime, work order cycle time). Perform basic statistical analysis and trend detection. Examples: Power BI, Tableau, Excel Power Query.
- Digital workflows and automation- Design e-forms and approval flows; automate notifications/escalations. Use low/no‑code tools to digitize manual processes quickly.
- Own the site audit visual program: plan and execute AV readiness for inspections/audits, perform pre-audit checks, provide live support, and conduct post-event debriefs and corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, standards, quick-reference guides, and checklists for AV operation, digital workflows, and audit scenarios (e.g., remote walkdowns, data redaction, screen-sharing controls).
- Monitor and report performance: AV uptime/first-time-right, incident trends, digitization KPIs, user satisfaction; implement continuous improvement and reliability actions.
- Resolve issues and escalate risks in a timely fashion to relevant on-site stakeholders; coordinate incident response and root cause analysis for AV/digital systems.
- Comply with company Manufacturing Division, Quality, and EHS Management System requirements, as relevant to project and commercial operations.
- Degree qualification or equivalent in Automation/Controls, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic, Computer/Software, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering (with digital/Lean focus), or related discipline.
- 2–5 years’ experience preferred in AV systems and/or engineering digitization within a regulated or mission-critical environment; graduate candidates with strong internships or project experience will be considered.
- Evidence of continuous professional development is desirable.
- Expertise in implementing Digitalisation initiatives.
- Expertise in AI platforms.
- SME in AV systems lifecycle and digital engineering workflows (design, deployment, sustaining operations; including reliability and continuous improvement).
- Hands-on knowledge of AV/collaboration technologies (such as, but not limited to, Teams/Zoom Rooms, room controllers, microphones, cameras, DSPs, displays, switching/routing, room booking, digital signage, remote audit solutions).
- Strong documentation skills: reports, standards, SOPs, policies, and training materials.
- Lead, promote, participate, and supervise the implementation and maintenance of relevant safety programs.
- Delivery of safety, performance, reliability, and quality goals.
