What you need to know
Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Compliance Manager for our client, in the financial services industry, based in North Wicklow.
As the Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the day-to-day compliance requirements, fostering and encouraging a culture of compliance throughout the business.
This position will be part of the senior management team and will report to the CEO and the Board of Directors.
This is a permanent position. Salary will depend on experience. Initially based on-site with scope to work 1-2 days from home after a number of months.
Key duties & responsibilities:
Ensuring that the business is fully compliant in accordance with the provisions of all relevant laws and regulations.
Proactively monitor, assess, and promptly communicate emerging statutory and legal requirements to the Board of Directors and the CEO.
Developing and maintaining annual compliance policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements.
Monitoring and accessing business activities under the compliance plan and reporting to the relevant internal parties as well as regulatory authorities.
Conducting risk assessments to identify compliance risks and taking steps to mitigate them.
Monitoring the systems and controls in place to verify that all officers adhere to relevant individual and legal obligations and guidance, for example, the Minimum Competency Code 2011 and the Fitness and Probity regime.
Ensuring comprehensive compliance with Anti-Money Laundering obligations and collaborating with the AML Officer to deliver monthly and annual reports to the Board of Directors, providing them with updates on all matters in alignment with our AML policy.
Investigating, addressing, and reporting compliance incidents or breaches.
Collaborating with Internal Audit, Risk, and External Auditors to assess and improve compliance processes.
Evaluating proposals related to new offerings, alterations to existing products and services, and significant management initiatives to verify alignment with prevailing and anticipated statutory and regulatory standards and guidance.
Oversee and manage the complaints handling process, ensuring that it aligns with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Providing guidance and training to staff to ensure they understand and adhere to compliance requirements and mandatory training requirements.
What are we looking for?
Previous experience working within financial services is essential with a min. 3-5 years in middle to senior role within Compliance.
Excellent knowledge of financial compliance regulations is essential.
ACOI Diploma in Compliance or working towards same.
Must conform with the Central Bank Reform Act 2010.
Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent prioritising skills and a desire to work in a vibrant, energetic work environment.
Highly computer literate.
