Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Animal Welfare Officer & Training Co-ordinator based in County Tipperary, our client specialises in the meat processing industry. This company has established a reputable name within the meat processing industry and their mission is to be a leading provider of safe, high-quality foods to the global marketplace. Our client is a leading, innovative business and is hoping the potential animal welfare officer & training co-ordinator can help contribute to their growing success.

This role will contain two aspects; the animal welfare officer’s main purpose within this role is to ensure the full compliance of the processing site in accordance with regulation (EC) No. 1009/2009. Whilst the training co-ordinator main responsibility is to ensure all activities in relation to required training is completed on site.

This is a Permanent, Monday – Friday role.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Monitor meat quality & liaise with suppliers on corrective action programs to optimise performance. Attend Operational PIT Meetings to ensure implantation of supplier’s corrective action.

  • Support and advise all the companies’ suppliers on the company’s policy and Customer/DAFM requirements.

  • To liaise with the Quality Assurance Department across all sites on all quality/customer related issues and to represent our client during customer audits.

  • To implement the clients Antimicrobial Usage Policy for all Suppliers.

  • Co-ordinate, monitor and record keep all training activities on site. Identify training needs across all departments and ensure completion of all training and recording of SOP training.

  • Implement an induction programme & training plan for new employees.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Qualification in agriculture/ animal husbandry/ green cert or a meat related cert is desired.

  • Willingness to work in a meat manufacturing environment is essential.

  • Knowledge in the meat industry is desired.

  • Experience liaising with suppliers in the meat industry is desired.

  • Knowledge on DAFM requirements is desired.

  • Experience of co-ordinating training activities is desired.

  • Desired attributes: Attention to detail, organisational skills, effective communication, problem solving and the ability to adapt.
