What you need to know
We are currently seeking a Senior Employee Relations Consultant for our client, in the financial services industry, based in Limerick.

In this position, you will be responsible for independently managing day-to-day employee relations tasks. This role will suit you if you have previous ER experience and can independently conduct disciplinary investigations and manage flexible working application processes.

This position reports to the Senior VP of Employee Relations.
This is a 12-month contract position with some possibility for other opportunities at the end of the contract. The role offers a hybrid working model.

Your new job
Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Advise, counsel and act as a subject matter expert on various Employee Relations issues including performance situations, investigations, policy breaches, progressive discipline, involuntary terminations, employment law, and interpretation and administration of corporate human resources policies/procedures for Ireland.
  • There may be some exposure to working with the UK team in this role.
  • Lead the investigation of grievances, disciplinaries and other formal procedures in conjunction with designated line managers or independently to include performance and probation management.
  • Responsible for providing advice to HR colleagues and managers on all ER and policy issues.
  • Manage flexible working application process.
  • Participate in the review and development of HR policies and procedures to meet the needs of the organisation, respond to changing legislation, and facilitate the adoption of best practices.
  • Support ER programs and initiatives and ad hoc projects as required.
  • Assisting with employee litigation in partnership with internal employment counsel.
  • Responsible for the handling of data subject access requests.
  • Manage the process of medical accommodations including risk assessment and reasonable adjustments.
  • Deliver manager training on ER-related policies and procedures.

What are we looking for?
  • Demonstrable consulting experience as a senior specialist ER consultant or in a generalist/hr business partner role with a strong focus on ER.
  • Track record of independently conducting investigations, performance and probation management, disciplinary and grievances.
  • Experience in applying ER protocols in Ireland.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of Irish employment law and HR best practices.
  • Good analytical and presentation skills.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Strong risk awareness.
