Job description

My client is looking to hire a Senior Buyer  to work at their innovative and progressive medical technology company in Co. Offaly.  You will be part of an established purchasing team. 

As the Senior Buyer  you will work alongside the Purchasing team you will be responsible for ensuring materials is purchased in line with requirements and stock is optimised to meet demand. You will be part of a team working on projects and process improvement. This is a great opportunity to shine as a Senior Buyer and be part of purchasing team who all work together.  

This is a permanent job with Hybrid work available

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective planning/coordinating ordering of raw materials items and production to support manufacturing plants in line with agreed production plan.

  • Coordinate day to day procurement operations. 

  • Release of purchase orders to suppliers in line with MRP timelines.

  • Supplier relationship management and negotiating and implement Supply Agreements. Carrying out regular business reviews with key suppliers.

  • Work with Engineering and other departments on cross functional NPI projects

  • Work  with planning department to ensure accuracy and timely information is available to buyers.

  • Ensure forecasts are sent to key suppliers in accordance to agreed requirements.

  • Work with the production and warehouse department to determine material requirements to ensure the timely supply of approved material to production.

  • Support Purchasing Manager, to meet purchasing KPIs, team goals and to develop strategies which will create efficiencies.

  • Delivers and/or manages projects assigned.

  • Makes improvements of processes, systems, or products to enhance performance of the job area.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree qualified in supply chain, business, or engineering.

  • Ideal a qualification in CIPS/IIPMM

  •  3+ years working in purchasing preferably medical device or manufacturing sector .

  • Experience with ERP systems Sap, or Oracle

  • Strong Excel Skills is essential . 

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package

  • Good interpersonal communication and initiative skills
