Our client, a leading manufacturing company in Co. Offaly are seeking a production manager to join their organisation.

This is a permanent position working week Monday – Friday, 8 – 4:30 pm.

The Production Manager will be tasked with enhancing company productivity and ensuring timely achievement of production goals.

Your new job

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing production operations, including:

    • Creating and managing production schedules efficiently and cost-effectively.

    • Collaborating with purchasing and technical departments to maintain necessary components for production.

    • Coordinating monthly and annual stocktakes with Purchasing and Finance departments, ensuring accurate processes and inventory records.

    • Supervising and managing daily activities of production staff.

    • Providing regular updates to Customer Service and Sales departments on sales order status.

    • Supplying production data for assessment and planning.

    • Identifying areas for improvement and training and communicating such needs to management.

    • Assisting the Quality Department in ensuring adherence to quality procedures and customer specifications during manufacturing.

    • Assisting in the development of new manufacturing processes as needed.

    • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Responsible for overseeing proactive maintenance tasks both inside and outside the plant facility, including:

    • Collaborating with electrical and mechanical subcontractors to organize their tasks according to operational needs.

    • Coordinating with the plant manager to develop and execute a preventive maintenance schedule for production equipment.

    • Supervising subcontractors for maintenance work when needed.

    • Liaising with the purchasing department to handle subcontractor-related maintenance tasks.

    • Maintaining and updating maintenance documentation.

    • Monitoring operator adherence to maintenance plans and records.

  • Undertaking any additional duties as required

What are we looking for?

  • A dynamic, driven individual with a background in either mechanical or electrical engineering.

  • Experience in a production setting is preferred, demonstrating a track record of implementing improvements.

  • Proficiency in navigating digital and data-driven environments is essential.

  • Strong communication skills are paramount, as the role involves managing a team of 25 and liaising with senior management both locally and corporately.
