Matrix Recruitment are seeking to recruit an HR Officer forour Clientbased in County Cork.
Our client is a leading timber processor in Ireland & the UK, experiencing robust growth in the Green Tech industry.
This is a full-time Permeant role, Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm. This is an onsite role. 
Key Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide dedicated HR support to the Fermoy site and its management team, covering all aspects of HR. Opportunities for growth and development through site experience and multi-site cross-functional project work are available. The HR Officer will also collaborate closely with the Group Head of HR on various projects.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process in collaboration with hiring managers.

  • Oversee the company induction program and work with HR and site teams to track, plan, and monitor its effectiveness.

  • Manage the onboarding process and probationary period.

  • Manage and audit company house and licensing agreements with employees.

  • Manage on-the-job training and pursue multiskilling across the site.

  • Track and report HR metrics weekly to the HR function and Senior Leadership Team, including absenteeism, probations, and underperformance.

  • Address absenteeism, probation, and underperformance issues.

  • Maintain and update HR systems to ensure accurate employee data for business planning and decision-making.

  • Oversee all aspects of HR administration.

  • Manage grievance and disciplinary investigations as required.

  • Actively support payroll management.

  • Support company-wide events, including social, charity, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

  •  Provide operational and strategic HR support to line managers and the Head of HR.

What we are looking for.

  • At least 2 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment or an HR graduate with 2 years post-qualification experience.

  • A third-level qualification is essential; CIPD membership is a distinct advantage.

  • Strong administrative skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and operate in a discreet and professional manner.

  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Visio skills are desirable.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing demands.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

  • A results-driven, customer-focused, and collaborative team mindset.

  • Excellent relationship-building, presentation, and communication skills.

  • High organization skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credible relationships at all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and work as part of a team.
