What You Need to Know:
Matrix Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced EMEA Payroll Specialist to join our client, a global finance company, based in Limerick.

This position reports into the International Payroll Manager.
In this position, you will play a key role in managing payroll processes across multiple EMEA locations, overseeing payroll operations, and helping to drive process improvements.

This is a 6.5 month contract with some possibility of extension. A hybrid working model is offered.

Your new job
Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Execute daily payroll activities, ensuring accurate and timely payroll production, including complex and year-end tasks.
  • Review payroll adjustment requests for compliance with corporate policies, employment tax, and payroll laws.
  • Provide guidance on corrective actions if payroll errors occur.
  • Record and analyse monthly payroll metrics.
  • Respond to employee queries regarding pay, tax laws, and related changes.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Participate in payroll implementations, and projects as well as system testing.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll tax and general ledger accounts with the finance team.
  • Handle accounting transactions to ensure balanced accounts.
  • Manage vendor relationships in line with corporate standards.
  • Review and validate payroll inputs and manual calculations.
  • Provide backup support for other team members’ payroll activities.
  • Represent the payroll department in various meetings.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and mentor for junior team members.
  • Monitor regulatory changes affecting payroll and advise on necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll-related laws and regulations through policy analysis.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for payroll operations.


What are we looking for?
  • IPASS qualification is desirable.
  • Over 4 years of payroll experience, ideally in EMEA payroll.
  • Previous experience in payroll processing, including outsourced payroll production.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Workday is advantageous.
