What you need to know

My client in the Public/Healthcare Sector is looking to recruit a Compliance Safety Manager for their site in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath

This job is an initial 12-month contract.

This is job is full time 5 days per week 9-5pm, Mon – Fri.

You will be responsible for leading & managing the Quality and Patient Safety team while focusing on patient safety and risk management keeping inline with policies and procedures.

 

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Establish a proactive risk management environment focusing on patient safety.

  • Assist in the implementation of safety standards for the facility.

  • Contribute to the preparation and execution of plans.

  • Support and develop the delivery of all key performance measure metrics.

  • Analyse trends and forecasting of data to inform service change for improved performance.

  • Provide support in developing an on-going development programme.

  • Ensure that any improvement actions are financially viable.

  • Ensure the efficient administration of the Clinical Risk function.

  • Implement systems and processes for any claims/incidents.

  • Analyse and interpret incident data identifying trends.

  • Liaise closely with all relevant departments and services in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines for risk management.

  • Develop effective partnerships with external organisations and other stakeholders.

  • Assist Managers in their delivery of high quality patient care.

  • Development of a Quality Improvement Plan.

What are we looking for?

  • An academic award in Healthcare Risk Management OR Healthcare Quality Management at level 6 (or higher) on the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or equivalent.

  • Significant experience of working in an acute hospital setting.

  • Experience of Risk Management.

  • Experience of working in healthcare in a role that has involved patient safety and risk & incident management.

  • Experience of working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in leading on patient safety projects/initiatives.

  • Knowledge of Employment Legislation as it relates to the People Management Legal Framework.

  • Knowledge of relevant HR policies and procedures.

  • Must have a working knowledge of HIQA.

  • Proficiency in MS Office skills to include, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong communication and people & leadership skills.
