What you need to know
A globally renowned industrial manufacturing company that produces high-quality products for some of the world’s most reputable automotive brands is currently seeking a committed and diligent Senior QA Engineer to join its team at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Galway City.
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will report directly to the Quality Manager on-site and work with your colleagues collaboratively to ensure that quality standards are met and enhanced. You will take a lead role in managing process design assurance and ensuring that industry quality standards are complied with so that customers' requirements are successfully delivered.
This is a permanent role with an excellent salary and package.
Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities include:
Support Sales and applications teams in ensuring that customer requirements are captured effectively and understood.
Lead projects to implement Customer Specific Requirements in the relevant business areas where required.
Monitor and ensure compliance with IATF-16949 regulations.
Handle customer complaints with automotive, and other high-value customers, using the 8D process.
Provide customer-facing support in the event of a complaint/quality issue.
Provide leadership to all teams on best practices in relation to all quality matters.
Review and complete customer quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Lead continuous improvement projects with cross-functional teams to continually improve the company's QMS.
Take responsibility for the PPAP process and calibration process on-site.
Support Customer and APQP and Product Development processes.
Support the company in preparing for audits from regulatory bodies and customers.
Lead QC/QA technicians ensuring high levels of quality support are delivered.
Analyse data and provide quality information to all relevant departments.
Provide leadership and technical knowledge to your assigned areas.
Support risk analysis activities while always considering customers’ needs.
Maintain and report appropriate customer quality performance metrics on a Daily/Weekly/Monthly basis.
What are we looking for?
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality or another technical discipline.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a QA function, ideally in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong IT skills, particularly the ability to use spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software (i.e., MS PowerPoint)
Ability to work on projects with personnel at all levels of the organisation.
Capable of leading personnel on other projects as required.
Experience of effectively managing personnel is essential.
Lean Sigma Qualification to Black Belt level is a distinct advantage.
AIAG Core Tools and IATF16949 Internal Auditor qualification would be an advantage.
Ability to learn new processes and methodologies quickly and explain them to colleagues concisely.
Ability to communicate effectively with distribution partners and customers, resulting in positive relationships being built.
