My client has a vacancy for a Civil Engineer based in Co. Offaly 

As the Civil Engineer, you will work with an environmentally responsible energy provider delivering technical solutions and services in an efficient and cost-effective manner. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the lean and timely delivery of technical solutions and services from within a team of engineers promoting cost effectiveness and continuous improvement. 

This is a 2 year fixed term contract job.

Your new job 

Key duties & responsibilities: 

  • Support in the delivery of value-adding engineering services, rehabilitation and projects. 

  • Ensure the timely delivery of projects in budget and to specifications while adhering to Health and Safety standards. 

  • Co-ordinate with all stakeholders for the duration of projects to ensure that key performance indicators are achieved. 

  • Develop alternative methods and designs to solve technical problems. 

  • Follow the relevant Codes of Practice, legislation, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Prepare tender and contract documentation. Monitor all elements of the project including cost, design, construction, operation and maintenance. 

  • Record and document all data for materials and progress in a timely and accurate manner. 

  • Participate in Performance Management processes 

  • Co-operate fully with Health & Safety and Welfare guidelines. 

What are we looking for? 

  • NFQ Level 8 in Civil Engineering or equivalent 

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience 

  • Excellent knowledge of project management and civil engineering design is essential. 

  • Membership of Engineers Ireland or similar is an advantage 

  • Proficient in preparation and presentation of Auto CAD drawings, digital processing and the organisation of surveying data. 

  • Civil Engineering design/implementation, construction costing/measurement,  

  • Working knowledge of design, specification, and methodology in Engineering, contract management, cost management and project management are essential. 

  • Excellent communication and technical report writing are required. 

  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD 3D, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, GIS Surveying and Structural Design. 

  • Full Clean Driving license essential
