What you need to know

Our client, who are Ireland's leading environmental service provider is seeking to recruit a Commercial Accountant in Co. Kildare.

This is a permanent hybrid position.  

The Commercial Accountant will be responsible for the financial control of several new joint venture companies working closely with the finance, engineering, and project teams.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and supervise internal controls for newly formed joint venture entities, including banking, treasury, purchasing, procurement, and risk management. 

  • Compile monthly reports in alignment with shareholder and board requirements, integrating management accounts and comprehensive project cost breakdowns, consulting engineering and project management teams.

  • Direct the annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting procedures, working closely with project management teams.

  • Work together with the statutory reporting team to draft the statutory financial statements for the Joint Venture entities and deliver them to the Board. 

  • Assist auditors during the annual audit to guarantee effectiveness and adherence to tax regulations.

  • Collaborate with the Finance Development Lead and the management group to strategize and carry out the projects according to the objectives outlined in the corporate plan. 

  • Collaborate with the Finance Team to achieve yearly objectives and assist in compiling financial data. 

  • Evaluate human resource needs within the new technology development area and devise a resource plan in line with agreed development programs.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA

  • At least 2+ years’ experience working as a fully qualified project or commercial accountant ideally within industry.  

  • Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
