Matrix Recruitment are seeking to recruit a- Software Engineer for our client, based in Waterford region.

Key duties & responsibilities:

• Analyze user needs and assess requirements.

• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

• Design, test, and develop new software.

• Debug, troubleshoot, and solve problems.

• High-level PLC programming and coding

• Attention to detail and strong organization skills.

• Documentation control, creating clear code and system documents.

• Project management, adhering to tight deadlines.

• Apply mathematical and statistical principles to problem-solving.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate project statuses.

What are we looking for?

• 3rd level Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

• 3-5 years of experience

• Proficiency in programming languages

• PLC/HMI experience (Beckhoff Twin CAT PLC programming a plus)

• Advanced industrial machine programming experience

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent IT knowledge and coding skills

• Strong team-building skills and a collaborative mindset
