WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW :
We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor—ideally with a background in electrical contracting—to join our engineering client’s dynamic technical team. The role is required to ensure commercial & contractual control and co-ordination of the efforts of all parties involved in the execution of a specified project or range of projects and to provide guidance to other members of the Commercial/quantity surveying team and Project Directors/Managers on all aspects relating to commercial activity on a specified project or range of projects.
YOUR NEW ROLE :
- Work closely with the project team to develop Monthly progress applications.
- Ensure all contract variations are captured from engineering deviations and site requests.
- Prepare in-house monthly commercial reports and take responsibility for all commercial aspects of the project.
- Monitoring spent V’s earned values on a weekly basis.
- Ensure maximum profitability on projects under his / her control by pro-actively approaching your duties and exercising commercial acumen.
- Prepare cash flows and update as necessary - analyse timing of sales and costs.
- Ensure good working relationships with clients, by ensuring that client correspondence / documentation is prepared in a professional manner.
- Carry out monthly measure on site and prepare in term valuation.
- Monitor progress on site ensure that where applicable claims for recovery of loss and expense are submitted timeously and agreed with client.
- Comply with company procedures in relation to commercial matters.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying and/or Electrical trade back-ground is also an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity survey functions.
- Technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, award, administration and close-out relating to a multi-discipline construction project.
- Knowledgeable of current industry and technical developments.
- Proven track record with recognized international standard contracting companies.
- Good communication and strong English capability. High level of reporting skills.
- Strong written communication abilities and the ability to negotiate a strong commercial position for the company are also essential.
- Good presentation and general management skills.
- Ability to work in a team or on your own initiative.
- Must be capable of preparing “MTO’s” and compiling the Actual Construction Measure.
- Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner.
- Computer literate especially with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Data Centre Experience.
