What you need to know
 

A leading and innovative plastics manufacturer in Co. Westmeath which is going through a period of exciting growth is seeking an experienced and committed Quality Engineer to join its team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Quality Manager and will have the opportunity to work on innovative and challenging projects. You will ensure that Quality Systems are maintained to the highest of standards and that product quality and documentation processes are adhered to. 


The company are leaders in their field who design, develop and manufacture quality components for some of the world’s most renowned medical devices companies.
 

This is a permanent role with an excellent salary and package. 
 

Your new job
 

Key duties & responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a quality system compliant with the ISO standards ISO13485, ISO9001 & IATF standard IATF16949, and all other applicable regulations.  
  • Responsibility for investigations into Product/Process non-conformances and customer complaints on both Medical and non-medical products.
  • Perform an active role in quality planning and new product introduction. 
  • Lead cross-functional teams in continuous improvement activities, championing a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in managing change controls across the plant. 
  • Responsibility for managing suppliers and performing internal and external audits. 
  • Provide training in Quality Processes and Procedures to the extended production and technical support team. 
  • Lead cross-functional teams in completing Product and Process risk assessments under ISO 14971.
     

What are we looking for?
 

  • A relevant third-level qualification in an Engineering or  Science discipline.
  • 5+ years of Quality experience, preferably in the plastics or medical devices industry but other industries will be considered. 
  • Strong attention to detail with a structured approach to planning and organising.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to articulate ideas concisely. 
  • A good team player, who works well in a small team environment. 
  • Ability to work on own initiative and priorities tasks effectively. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Be able to work under pressure and on your own initiative.
