Here’s a great opportunity to step into a permanent Process Engineering Manager – Product Development & Scale-Up role with a well-known manufacturing and innovation facility based in Wexford. You’ll join an established technical team, working alongside experts at the forefront of process technology and engineering.
Your New Job:
This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Technical. As the Process Engineering Manager, you’ll be working with the pilot plant team to support development, scale-up, and commercialisation of new products and processes. You’ll also collaborate with global colleagues on innovation and productivity projects and provide specialist support to ensure manufacturing runs smoothly.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and review experiments to deliver new products and processes using laboratory, pilot, or commercial scale equipment
Plan and execute scale-up projects and technology transfers to commercial manufacture, including validation and implementation
Identify opportunities for process and productivity improvements through data monitoring and trend analysis
Oversee manufacturing by evaluating lab results and instrumentation to determine material and process status
Apply laboratory methods and standards for assessments and process evaluations
Review scientific literature to keep specialist knowledge up to date and identify new technology opportunities
Drive quality standards by ensuring adherence to SOPs, safety, GMP, and environmental practices
Provide technical support for contingency and supply planning
Communicate clearly with team members, management, and external partners
What Are We Looking For?:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, Organic, Applied, or Analytical Chemistry (PhD desirable)
5+ years’ experience (including PhD) in a relevant industry operating process equipment
Experience with distillation, chromatography, membrane filtration, and related technologies
Strong background in organic chemistry and analytical methods (GC/GCMS/HPLC)
Experience with product development, scale-up, and pilot plant equipment
Knowledge of quality and food safety standards, including ISO, FSSC & FDA
Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
Strong data literacy and computer skills
Willingness to travel up to 10%
Fluent English required
