What you need to know

We are currently seeking a Payments and Accounts Administrator for our financial services client, based in Navan, Meath.

This is an exciting time to join the company with a number of product and service launches coming up this year. You will join a friendly team in a Monday – Friday role.

The role is a permanent role. It is based on site for the most part.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Processing EFT, Direct Debit & Card transactions for all the business

  • Responsibility for setting up Direct Debits and Bill Payments on behalf of Members

  • Overseeing all EFT files, and current account transactions both incoming and outgoing, monitoring for exceptions and rejections and follow up as required

  • Prepare current account and bank reconciliations, for formal monthly reconciliations for review by Management Accountant

  • Re-issue replacement cards for expired/lost cards issued to members

  • Prepare reports as required by the Chief Financial Officer and work to continuously improve processes

  • Support Internal and external audits, compliance and risk reviews and take ownership for action items as an outcome of such reviews

  • Receive and manage telephone enquiries from Members

  • Maintenance of policy and procedure documentation in relation to the finance function

What are we looking for?

  • Prior accounting/booking keeping experience in a similar role, a minimum of 2 years’ experience is required

  • Strong I.T. skills are required: Working knowledge of MS Excel/Word/Outlook (comfortable with formulas, Pivot tables etc.)

  • Working knowledge of Sage Accounting system or similar is preferred

  • Part-qualified or willingness to study towards an accounting qualification

  • Superior administration skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy at all times

  • Workflow/time management skills

  • Familiarity with business banking online and other contemporary finance systems

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work on own initiative, as well as in a team and embrace new skills and practices
