This is a hands-on environment with real variety, where no two projects are the same.
What are we looking for
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our growing team in Waterford. This is a hands-on role requiring proficiency in welding, cutting, and shaping metal components from engineering drawings. The ideal candidate will take pride in producing high-quality fabricated assemblies and structures to precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate metal components, assemblies, and structures from engineering drawings and specifications
Previous use of fibre laser an advantage but not essential
Perform MIG, TIG, and/or MMA welding to a high standard
Use cutting, grinding, bending, and forming equipment
Carry out fitting and assembly of fabricated parts
Inspect finished work for dimensional accuracy and weld quality
Set up and operate fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
Work collaboratively with engineering teams to meet project deadlines
Requirements
Proven experience as a Metal Fabricator / Welder (minimum 2–3 years)
Strong welding skills — MIG and/or TIG welding to a high standard
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols
Experience using angle grinders, plasma cutters, bending machines, and hand tools
Understanding of material types including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
Relevant trade qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience
Strong attention to detail and quality focus
Commitment to safe working practices
Desirable
FETAC/QQI or City & Guilds welding certification
