WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW :

Due to the continued growth and expansion of this family-run agricultural estate based in County Wexford we are now looking for an experienced Mechanic to join the maintenance team.

This role is key to ensuring efficient operations, particularly during busy periods to maintain and repair machinery, equipment and infrastructure.

This is a varied, hands-on role working across agricultural machinery, packhouse equipment, vehicles and site infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, repair and installation of mechanical equipment.

  • Diagnose and repair faults on agricultural and packhouse equipment.

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.

  • Repair trailers, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics and other mechanical systems.

  • Assist with machinery upgrades, fabrication projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Complete maintenance records accurately.

  • Work safely and comply with all Health & Safety procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised apprenticeship / mechanical / mechanic certification

  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Full driving licence.

Highly Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • Diesel mechanic experience.

  • Agricultural machinery experience.

  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Basic electrical fault-finding skills.

  • Experience operating forklifts, telehandlers or tractors.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Qualified Mechanic

  • Hands on mechanical troubleshooting competence

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Full Category B driving licence (essential)

  • Fluent in English

Essential Certifications (Ireland)

  • Valid Safe Pass card

  • Manual Handling certification

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with agricultural or heavy plant machinery

  • Knowledge of electrics

  • Experience in a farming or food production environment

  • Trailer maintenance and fabrication experience
