Laboratory Manager
What You Need to Know:
A fantastic opportunity has come up for an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy lab environment. This is a full-time role suited to someone who thrives on delivering quality results and driving continuous improvement, with flexibility to support operations across a 7-day schedule where needed.

Your New Job:
As Laboratory Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of lab performance and ensuring work meets key quality standards. You’ll take the lead in managing staff, planning resources, and developing quality systems, while also being the main point of contact for clients on technical matters.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage laboratory operations to deliver efficient daily performance
  • Organise and monitor sample processing, making sure analysis is accurate and on time
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO 17025:2017 and internal policies
  • Develop, train, and support laboratory staff
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain and improve quality control systems and SOPs
  • Oversee calibration, maintenance, and validation of lab equipment
  • Lead internal audits and support external accreditation processes
  • Address non-conformances and implement corrective actions
  • Promote a strong safety culture and high standards in lab maintenance
  • Stay informed about developments in relevant scientific and regulatory areas

What Are We Looking For?:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a scientific field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a lab environment
  • Management or supervisory background within a laboratory
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025:2017 or similar standards
  • Experience with auditing processes is highly desirable
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Confident using laboratory systems and IT tools
