Matrix Recruitment is recruiting for a Head of Maintenance on behalf of our client in the County Kildare area.

Permanent role | On-site | Senior Leadership Position

This is a key leadership role within a well-established, high-volume manufacturing business. You’ll lead a large maintenance team, drive major site upgrades, and play a central role in improving plant performance, reliability, and efficiency.


Your new role

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a large maintenance team, driving performance and development, identify skills gaps
• Ensure maximum uptime and reliability across all plant and equipment
• Deliver major capital projects (equipment upgrades, new installations, automation)
• Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost control and efficiency
• Drive continuous improvement and Lean initiatives across the site
• Ensure full compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO and safety standards
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and senior leadership to support site growth


What You Need:

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or similar)
10+ years’ experience in maintenance/engineering within manufacturing, highly automated/fast paced
• Proven experience managing large teams
• Strong track record delivering CapEx projects and site improvements
• Experience with budgets, KPIs, and performance management
• Knowledge of food, FMCG or pharmaceutical environments 
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
