About the Role:
As Financial Controller, you will work closely with the Group Managing Director, Site General Manager, Commercial Team and HR, to provide financial insight, helping the business make informed decisions while ensuring robust financial governance and supporting future growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance function while acting as a trusted business partner to the senior leadership team Take ownership of the finance function, leading all aspects of financial management.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reporting packs and business performance analysis for the senior leadership team.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning processes, providing insightful variance analysis and commercial recommendations.
- Develop project costing models, monitor contract profitability and provide commercial analysis to support pricing, investment and operational decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business, acting as a trusted finance partner and influencing strategic and operational decisions.
- Partner with operational managers to improve financial performance, challenge assumptions where appropriate and identify opportunities to enhance profitability and efficiency.
- Establish and embed scalable finance processes, controls and reporting frameworks capable of supporting the business as it continues to grow.
- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and governance requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement while playing a key role in the future implementation of an ERP system.
What Are We Looking For?:
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA) preferred and Big 4 qualified advantageous.
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or in a similar senior finance role with responsibility for the full finance function.
- Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial information and influence business decisions.
- Proven stakeholder management skills.
- Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing, agri or similar environment would be advantageous.
- Experience in a start-up or growing business would be advantageous.
- Strong IT skills. Experience supporting ERP implementation would be an advantage.
