Matrix Recruitment are seeking to recruit a Facilities Engineer for our clients manufacturing and innovation facility, based in Wexford region.

You will play a crucial role in overseeing plant and facility system maintenance, driving improvement initiatives, and leading projects to propel our site towards Net Zero by 2030.

Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Lead the site's transition to Net Zero by 2030.

  • Prepare and manage technical project proposals within budget, ensuring feasibility and justification.

  • Coordinate project implementation with multi-disciplinary teams, maintaining clear reporting on program, cost, and issues.

  • Manage external engineering consultancy and contracting companies for capital projects.

  • Lead cross-functional improvement teams to enhance facility effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with operations, technical, and engineering teams for process improvement and capital expenditure.

  • Manage change activities, ensuring compliance with quality and engineering standards.

  • Interact with regulatory personnel and manage relevant engineering documentation.


What are we looking for?

  • Degree in Building Services, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering with a proven track record.

  • Over 3 years' experience in the building services/process industry, leading projects and providing technical support.

  • Strong project management skills & experience in a highly automated environment.

  • Ability to lead capital projects.

  • Knowledge of up-to-date facility technologies (heating, cooling, lighting).

  • Ability to troubleshoot existing plant using engineering principles.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting various technical drawings and diagrams.

  • Excellent understanding of safety legislation, safety standards, and risk assessment methodologies.

  • Hands-on experience in engineering validations, with a strong grasp of cGMP, including computer systems validation.
