What you need to know
We are currently recruiting for an Epidemiologist for our client, a Public Sector Organisation.
This role is a 3 month contract.
The role is based in Dublin or Meath.
Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities
Preform epidemiological/statistical analyses of public health related data and provide recommendations
Supervise surveillance/research assistants, surveillance/research officers and trainees within their area of work in the management of data, development of outputs and statistical analysis
Provide technical and analytical support in outbreak/epidemiological investigations, cluster analysis, exceedances, population health needs assessments, health care prioritisation exercises and evaluation and outcome studies
Assist in the production of reports
Provide epidemiological expertise and support to research studies
What are we looking for?
Hold a post-graduate NFQ level 9 qualification, or higher, in one of the following:
(a)Epidemiology
(b)Public Health
(c)Microbiology and/or Infectious Diseases
(d)Biological Sciences
(e)Biomedical Sciences
(f)Health Informatics
(g)Other relevant health sciences subject
Have at least four years’ experience working in microbiology/infectious disease, biological/biomedical science, public health, health service research, epidemiology or a relevant health sciences field, where at least two years of which was in applying epidemiological/surveillance methods
Experience working in a research, scientific or health services environment involving infectious diseases, public health or epidemiology
Experience in the analysis, interpretation and presentation of epidemiological and surveillance data
Knowledge and understanding of the principles of epidemiology and study design
Experience of interpreting data and statistical analysis via statistical software
A knowledge of public health issues and experience in report writing
Excellent MS Office Suite skills
